Red Air was founded in 2020 and started operations in November 2021. It is a joint venture between LASER Airlines of Venezuela and fixed base operator SERVAIR Dominicana. Headquarters are located in Santo Domingo and the base of operations is the city's Las Americas International Airport. The fleet is made up of MD-80 series aircraft. The airline's main destination is Miami in Florida and it follows a low cost leisure business model.

Check in rules
The airline does not offer online check-in on its website. Passengers must check in at the airport. The airline recommends that passengers arrive at the airport two hours before their scheduled departure time.

The airline allows passengers to take one piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 8 kg and with luggage dimensions of 50 cm x 40 cm x 25 cm. Passengers are allowed two pieces of luggage of 23 kg each in business class and one piece of luggage of up to 32 kg in economy class. Any baggage exceeding the check-in baggage allowance will be charged per kg.
