Tara Air is a small Nepalese airline based at Kathmandu. It was founded in 2009 by its parent airline company Yeti Airlines. Tara Air specializes in STOL (short take off and landing) operations which are typical for the mountainous terrain of the country. Check in rules

Tara Air passengers must check in within a specified time frame before the scheduled departure. Boarding passes can be obtained at the airport or at the check-in counter. During check-in, passengers are required to present their identity proof, reservation code, and valid travel documents. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in refusal of carriage.

Baggage

Tara Air allows passengers one carry-on and one checked bag within specified size and weight limits. The free baggage allowance is limited to 10 kg for checked baggage and 5 kg for hand carry.

Unaccompanied minors

A child discount of 33% applies to the base fare for unaccompanied minors. The free baggage allowance for unaccompanied minors is 7 kg. The child must present a valid ID card. Cancellation and no-show policies for children apply as per the airline's terms and conditions.

Infants

Infants under 2 years of age are eligible for a fare discount, requiring only 10% of the fare to be paid at the airport. Physical verification is performed to categorize or identify minors as infants or children at the time of acceptance.

Pets

Pets, including dogs, cats, household birds, and other animals, must be properly crated and accompanied by valid health and vaccination certificates, entry permits, and other necessary documents. If accepted as baggage, the animal and its container, along with food, will not be included in the free baggage allowance and will be treated as excess baggage, incurring applicable fees.
