Widerøe operates only one model of De Havilland , the Dash 8 Q400. As of 2022, the company has ten Dash 8 Q400s. The aircrafts were chosen by the airline because of their small capacity. The De Havilland Dash 8 Q400 has a longer fuselage and increased passenger capacity to 78 passengers. The plane also has twice as powerful engines, which provide a cruising speed and up to 650 km/h. With these changes, the 400 series also received the Q (Quiet) designation because of its noise and vibration reduction system in the passenger cabin.
