Airlines operating Boeing 737-900 airplanes
The Boeing 737-900 is the longest version of the Next Generation family of 737 airliners. It was designed to compete with the Airbus A321 and to some extent as a replacement for the Boeing 757. Early versions had the same capacity limit as the smaller 737-800 but offered more space for a more premium cabin layout. A Later version included another set of emergency exits that raised the passenger limit to 220 while also adding additional fuel capacity. This version is called the 737-900ER (Extended Range). It could carry a typical two class load of 177 passengers over a distance of 2950 (5460km). Boeing produced around 550 examples of the type before switching production to the similarly sized 737-9 MAX.
