Swiss Baggage rulesUnaccompanied minors
The airline provides an escort service for minors. The service is mandatory for children ages 5-12 traveling without an adult. Children under five years of age are not allowed to travel unless accompanied by an adult.
Unaccompanied minors in SwissInfants
Children up to two years old (24 months), are not required to have their own seat. Only one lap child is allowed per adult. If one adult is traveling with more than one infant under two years of age, a seat must be purchased for each additional infant. Child under two years old (24 months) is usually charged 10% of an adult fare plus taxes, even if the infant will be on the lap of another passenger for the flight.
Swiss Infants policyPets
Swiss Airlines allows each passenger to bring two animals onto a flight. Dogs and cats are welcome in the cabin on Swiss International flights, as long as the combined weight with carrier does not exceed 17 lbs (8 kg). Animals and carriers exceeding 17 lbs (8 kg) or whose transport container is bigger than the permitted size (longer, higher, or wider than 118 cm) must travel as checked cargo in the hold. Swiss considers medium carriers to be 60 cm x 45 cm x 40 cm, whereas large carriers are between 71 cm x 50 cm x 51 cm and 105 cm x 75 cm x 79 cm and only weigh up to 14 kg.
