Baggage

The airline allows passengers to take one piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 7 kg and with luggage dimensions of 45 cm x 33 cm x 20 cm. Passengers are allowed two pieces of luggage of 23 kg in business class and one piece of luggage of up to 23 kg in economy class. Any baggage exceeding the check-in baggage allowance will be charged per kg.

Unaccompanied minors

Children over the age of five can travel alone. A minors' escort service is compulsory for children 5-11 years old. For children aged 12-15 years old, a minors' escort service is not compulsory and can be booked at parents' request.

Infants

Infants are passengers under the age of 24 months. Infants do not have a separate seat and must sit on the lap of an accompanying adult. On domestic flights, infants travel for free; on Trans-Tasman flights, the cost is 10% of the normal adult fare, and on international flights, it is 75% of the normal adult fare. If one adult travels with two infants, a child ticket must be purchased for one of the infants.

Pets

Virgin Australia can arrange for pets on most domestic flights. All pets (except permitted service dogs/assist dogs) are carried in the aircraft's cargo hold. Only dogs and cats are accepted. Pet must be at least eight weeks old and weigh no more than 65 kg.
