Contour Aviation was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in Smyrna, Tennessee. The company is a fixed base operator and offers charter flights as well as scheduled services through its subsidiary Contour Airlines. For the latter, the company utilises its fleet of Embraer ERJ135 aircraft configured in a 30 seat single class layout.

Check in rules

Contour ticket counters open two hours before the scheduled departure time. We recommend arriving at the airport 60 minutes before departure. Passengers and baggage are accepted for check in at the Contour ticket counter until 30 minutes before departure. For flights departing Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), passengers and baggage will no longer be accepted for check in past 45 minutes before departure. All passengers must be present at the gate at least 15 minutes before departure or be subject to cancellation of their reservation. Boarding doors close 10 minutes before departure time. Beginning 24 hours and up to 45 minutes before your flight, you can check in from your computer.

Baggage

Contour Airlines offer 1 free checked bag, up to a maximum weight of 23 kg / 50 lbs. All bags are limited in size to 30 x 15 x 45 inches.

Unaccompanied minors

An unaccompanied minor is a child between the ages of 5 and 14 who is not accompanied on the same flight or compartment by a passenger at least 15 years old or older or by a parent, regardless of age. Children under five years old will not be allowed to fly without an adult. Unaccompanied minors will only be accepted on Contour non-stop flights and must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult until the child is boarded onto the aircraft.

Infants

A ticket must be purchased for infants traveling in their seat. The purchaser must provide their child safety seat, clearly labeled as approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), to be installed according to the instructions on its label. A reserved seat is required to carry on a safety seat, or a seat must be available next to you.

Pets

Airlines do not allow more than two pet containers in the cabin at any time and only one pet carrier per passenger. Pets are required to stay in their carrier at all times and must be soothed by the owner in their carrier. Pet carrier dimensions are not to exceed 24” length x 16” width x 10” height and are considered a carry-on item for allowance purposes.
