Nexus Airlines is a new Australian regional carrier founded in 2023. The airline is a sister company of Aviair which has its roots going back all the way to 1984 and boasts extensive experience in aviation in Western Australia. The new airline was set up with a fleet of De Havilland Dash 8 Q400 aircraft configured in a single class 76 seat layout. These bring a considerable enhancement in services and connectivity to the remote destinations they serve.

Check in rules
Sufficient time should be allowed for check-in to be completed before the closure of the Nexus Airlines flight. Check in closes 30 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure time. Nexus Airlines recommends to check-in at least 45 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. Boarding gate closure will occur 10 minutes prior to the departure of the aircraft.

All fares offered by Nexus Airlines include a checked luggage allowance of 23kg, allowing passengers to bring up to 2 pieces of luggage. If passengers wish to carry additional luggage beyond the permissible limit specified in the Fare Rules, they may do so by paying an extra charge. The charge for extra luggage is $5.50 per kilogram if pre-booked, and $20 per kilogram if booked at the time of check-in Passengers have the option to purchase excess luggage online, with a maximum limit of 64kg per person. However, it is important to. adhere to the maximum weight limit of 32kg for any individual luggage item. The final decision regarding the acceptance of overweight luggage lies with Nexus Airlines and is subject to their discretion. In line with the regulations, each passenger is permitted to carry 2 pieces of luggage. If passengers require additional baggage items, they are advised to contact the Nexus Airlines Reservations team to make the necessary arrangements

Nexus Airlines has procedures in place for the carriage of Unaccompanied Minors (call them ‘Nexus Cadets’) Unaccompanied minors’ guidelines: Aged between 5-12 years. Able to consume food and beverages with minimal assistance. Able to use the toilet unassisted If required, able to self-administer any medications (Including Epi Pens). Please note that all medications must be easily accessible inside cabin luggage. If medications are required during the flight, details must be listed on the Unaccompanied Minor Travel Form with a signed doctor’s letter attached.

Newborns cannot fly within the first 48 hours of delivery and require medical clearance to travel up to 7 days after delivery. All mothers will require medical clearance if travelling within 7 days of giving birth. Infants who have not reached their 2nd birthday by the date of travel and do not occupy a seat can travel free of charge on all Nexus Airline flights. Parents can carry an infant under two years of age on their lap. An infant seatbelt extension will be supplied by the Cabin Crew as well as detailed instructions around the correct use. For safety reasons, only one (1) infant is permitted to be seated on an adult’s lap. If more than one infant is travelling with an adult, the second infant must be able to sit upright in their own purchased seat and must be able to wear the seatbelt attached to that seat.

Animals are not permitted to travel in the Nexus Airlines passenger cabin of the Q400. Except guide or special assistance animals. Animals will be placed in a special cargo hold section of the aircraft. To enquire about travelling with your pets please contact the airline.
