Star Air was founded in 2017. It is an Indian airline based at Bangalore, Karnataka. The airline is a subsidiary of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group. Scheduled regional operations were set-up with an initial fleet of Embraer ERJ 145 aircraft. The airline has recently expanded, incorporating larger E175 aircraft into its fleet. These new additions feature a two class layout with a dedicated business class section. Star Air currently serves over 16 domestic destinations with growth to more cities expected to continue in the years ahead.

Check-in can be done online (via the website or mobile app) or at the airport. Online check-in begins 24 hours before departure and ends 60 minutes before departure. Check-in desks open three hours before departure and close 60 minutes before departure.
