Silk Avia is a new regional airline in Uzbekistan. It was founded in 2021 and started operations in 2023. The headquarters are in Tashkent. The airline has chosen the ATR 72-600 as its main aircraft type and has been operating it on scheduled domestic services within Uzbekistan. Silk Avia has managed to carry 12000 passengers in its first month of operations. The company has announced it will create its own training center with the help of the aircraft manufacturer ATR.

Check in rules

Silk Avia Check-in and baggage handling at Uzbekistan airports start 2 hours in advance. Check-in closes 30 minutes before domestic flight departure time. Ticket check-in and baggage handling are carried out at the check-in counters located at the airport terminals. Passengers must present their identity document and ticket (electronic or paper), as well as luggage and hand luggage (if any) to check-in. Passengers can also check in online at the Silk Avia website and print out their boarding pass by themselves. After check-in, the passenger will receive a Silk Avia boarding pass and a baggage tag. They must be kept until baggage collection at the destination airport.

Baggage

Silk Avia passengers are allowed up to 5kg of hand luggage in the cabin, and if a passenger purchased a ticket at the applicable rates, he/she can check in up to 0/10/20kg luggage without charge (depending on the chosen tariff). The maximum permitted size of one piece of hand luggage max. 40 cm height x 30 cm width x 20 cm depth

Infants

Silk Avia will help you with transporting infants. Please contact us for particular cases. Baby nutrition is allowed for transportation as an exception to carrying liquids.

Pets

Silk Avia permits transportation of animals and birds, subject to the availability of certificates and permits of veterinary supervision authorities. Transportation of animals and birds is not included in the Silk Avia free baggage allowance and is paid according to the tariff (tariffs to be specified) for excess baggage. In the passenger cabin of the aircraft, it is allowed to carry: Dogs, cats, monkeys, birds and other small animals, the weight of which together with the container (cage) should not exceed 8 kg. If this norm is exceeded, the animal is transported in the baggage compartment of the Silk Avia aircraft. Without restriction in weight and without payment of fees for excess baggage of guide dogs for blind and deaf passengers, provided that the animal has a collar, a muzzle and the passenger has presented an appropriate certificate of his health
