Cabo Verde Airlines was founded in 1958 and was originally known as TACV. The airline started off flying domestically until 1985 when it operated its first European route to Lisbon. During its many years of operations, Cabo Verde Airlines has served many destinations in Africa, Europe, North America and Brazil. The airline's hub is at Sal International Airport. For many years, the Boeing 757 was the airline's main aircraft type. Today, the fleet is entirely made up of Boeing 737 aircraft.

Online check-in is available for all flights departing from Brazil, Cape Verde, Portugal, Nigeria, and Senegal 36 hours before departure. Online check-in closes 120 minutes before departure. The passenger must arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure time for regional and international flights. Check-in closes 50 minutes before departure. For flights to/from the United States, passengers must arrive at the airport no later than 4 hours before scheduled departure. Check-in closes 50 minutes before departure.

Baggage

Passengers can carry a limited amount of luggage with a maximum weight of 5 kg. The dimensions of the product are 55 (H) x 35 (D) x 25 (W). Passengers are allowed 15 kg of checked baggage on domestic flights, up to 20 kg on regional flights, and up to 23 kg on international flights operated by Cabo Verde Airlines.

Unaccompanied Minor service is mandatory for a child 5-12 years old traveling without an adult. Children ages 12-17 are not required to travel as unaccompanied minor. However, the service can be ordered.

Infants are defined as children under two years of age. Infants may fly on the lap of an accompanying adult. If you wish you can buy a seat for an infant at the infant fare. If one adult is traveling with two infants, one seat must be purchased for one infant, and the other may be held on the lap.

Pets

On B757 and B737 small animals can be carried in the cabin if the total weight of the animal and the carrier does not exceed 8 kg. For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed the dimensions of 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm. Only one pet may be transported in one container. Animals weighing more than 8 kg may be carried as checked baggage in a well-ventilated cargo compartment area.
