Current JetSMART Colombia (J6) seat map listing

JetSMART Colombia is the latest addition to the JetSMART family of airlines. It received its AOC and started operations in Q1 2024. The company is owned by US private equity firm Indigo Partners that also holds interest in Frontier Airlines, Volaris and Wizz Air. The airline plans to fill the demand left behind by the recent demise of Viva Air Colombia and Ultra Air. It will mostly cover popular domestic routes with some additional international expansion in the future. JetSMART Colombia will also use the A320 family of aircraft configured in a single class high density layout.

Check in rules

JetSMART allows passengers to check in online for free between 72 hours and 40 minutes before flight departure via their website, using the reservation code and email address. If the email is forgotten, check-in can be done by passenger name. Alternatively, airport check-in at the JetSMART counter is available for a fee. For domestic flights, it opens 120 minutes before and closes 50 minutes prior to departure, while for international flights, it's available from 240 minutes until 70 minutes before departure. Passengers should arrive at the airport 120 minutes before domestic flights and 180 minutes before international flights. Boarding gates for both domestic and international flights close 20 minutes before departure.

Baggage

JetSmart Airlines offers various baggage options with specific requirements and costs. Passengers are allowed one handbag on board with dimensions not exceeding 45cm x 35cm x 25cm and a weight limit of 10kg, fitting under the front seat or in the overhead compartment for certain seats. Additionally, passengers can opt for large cabin baggage at an extra cost, limited to one per passenger. This baggage can weigh up to 10kg and must not exceed 55cm x 35cm x 25cm, including wheels and handles. For checked baggage, transported in the aircraft's hold and managed by the company, there is an additional cost. Each item can weigh up to 23kg and must not exceed 158 linear cm. Passengers are allowed a maximum of 5 checked baggage items. These must be presented at the airport counter, with potential fines for non-compliance.

Unaccompanied minors

Due to the lack of a "Unaccompanied Minor" service at JetSMART, passengers between the ages of 0 and 14 (minus one day) are not permitted to travel alone; instead, they must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 18 years old and will be responsible for their care throughout the journey.

Infants

At JetSMART Airlines youngsters under two years old are allowed to travel and are regarded as babies. Only one infant per adult is permitted; infants do not have the right to a seat and must travel in the arms of the accompanying adult. Babies are permitted to travel in a baby carriage and with a purse. Both goods are included at no extra cost. Age is taken into account at the end of the trip, not at the time of purchase. You must pay for a kid ticket that occupies a seat if the child is not old enough to be deemed an infant on the day of the journey.

Pets

JetSmart airline's cabin pet service allows only dogs and cats with docile behavior on direct, non-connecting flights, charging per passenger per leg of the journey. Each passenger is limited to one pet, with a maximum of four pets allowed per flight, subject to availability confirmed at least 48 hours before departure. The pet and its container's combined weight must not exceed 10 kilos, and the pets should be over 3 months old, not pregnant, not tranquilized, and must not emit bad odors or loud noises. Passengers are responsible for their pet's health, care, and any disturbances during the flight.
