Check in rules

Check-in can be done online (via the website or mobile app) or at the airport. Check-in desks open three hours before departure and close 60 minutes before departure. Online check-in is available between 48 hours and 70 minutes before the scheduled departure

Baggage

Maximum dimensions of hand baggage: 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm. The maximum hand baggage weight for economy class is 8 kg (10 kg in Brazil); for premium business class and premium economy class 16 kg. Checked-in baggage must be no larger than 158 cm (width + height + length) and weigh no more than 23 kg. Baggage exceeding the standard size and weight limits will be subject to applicable fees.

Unaccompanied minors

Children over the age of eight can travel alone. A minors' accompanying service is compulsory for children 8-11 years old. For children over 12 years old, the minors' accompaniment service is not mandatory and can be booked at the parents' request.

Infants

Children up to 2 years old (24 months), are not required to have their own seat in Economy Class. Lap children may only be held by passengers who are at least 15 years of age. Only one lap child is allowed per adult. If one adult is traveling with more than one infant under 2 years of age, a seat will have to be purchased for each additional infant.

Pets

Small cats and dogs weighing up to 15.4 pounds (7 kg), including the weight of the carrier, are allowed in the cabin. The size of the carrier may not exceed 36 cm x 33 cm x 23 cm. Pets must be at least eight weeks old to travel in the cabin. (16 weeks of age at entry into the United States). One pet is allowed per passenger. LATAM does not transport pets to the following destinations: Galapagos Islands, Australia, New Zealand, Papeete, or Great Britain.
