The recommended arrival time at the airport is 3 hours before the scheduled American Airlines departure time for international flights. You can also check in online or from the app 24 hours before departure and no later than 45 minutes before departure (90 minutes for international flights).

Baggage

The luggage limits are: 158 cm (length+width+height), weight 23 kg. Up to 5 pieces of luggage can be checked on U.S. American Airlines flights if departing to/from Mexico/Caribbean/Central America, South America, and Brazil. Passengers flying in basic economy class are allowed one free piece of carry-on baggage (in addition to a personal item) to all destinations. The dimensions of a personal item may not exceed 45 x 35 x 20 cm. The size of hand baggage may not exceed 56 x 36 x 23 cm (including handles and wheels)

Unaccompanied minors

Children between the ages of 5 and 14 traveling alone have used our American Airlines Minor Escort Service. This service is not mandatory for children ages 15-17, but an additional fee is charged upon request. For children 5-7 years old, an escort is required before boarding and contact with a guardian. Can only travel on direct flights. Children 8-14 years old require an escort before boarding and contact with a guardian. Can travel on non-stop flights or any connecting flights.

Infants

Infants under two years of age may travel free of charge on the lap of a parent (of any age) or the lap of an accompanying adult aged 16 years or older traveling in the same American Airlines cabin. We welcome infants from 2 days old, but infants up to 7 days old need to fill out a Passenger Health Care form before the flight.
