Check-in can be done online (via the website or mobile app) or at the airport. Online check-in begins 24 hours before departure and ends 60 minutes before departure (for domestic flights) and two hours (for international flights). Check-in desks open three hours before departure and close 60 minutes before departure.

Baggage

On Australian domestic flights, Economy Class passengers are allowed one piece of luggage weighing no more than 23 kg . Business Class passengers are allowed two pieces of baggage weighing no more than 32 kg. On international flights to America, Economy Class passengers are generally allowed two pieces of baggage weighing no more than 23 kg each. Cabin baggage allowance for economy class: one bag x 115 cm (sum of all dimensions), not more than seven kg. For Business class one bag x 115 cm (total of all dimensions) or two bags x 105 cm (total of all dimensions), for a maximum of seven kg.

Unaccompanied minors

For children traveling alone (without the supervision of a parent or guardian, sibling aged 15 years or older, or an adult designated as the child's parent or guardian), including children traveling on the same flight but in a different class or cabin, classified as unaccompanied minors Qantas Airways offers a Minor Unaccompanied Minor service. Children between the ages of 5 and 12 may travel alone on domestic and international flights only as unaccompanied minors. Exceptionally, 5-year-olds may travel alone on international flights only if the total travel time is less than 6 hours. Children aged between 12 and 16 years old can travel alone as unaccompanied minors only at the request of their parents or guardians.

Infants

A child under two years of age (24 months) may travel free of charge if the infant is on another passenger's lap during the flight. Only one infant on the lap is allowed per adult. If one adult travels with more than one infant under two years of age, a regular seat must be purchased for each additional infant. Cradles may be requested for infants under six months of age on domestic and 18 months on international flights.
