El Al allows you to check in online 48 hours to 60 minutes before your scheduled departure time. Check-in desks close 60 minutes before scheduled departure time. Boarding gates close 25 minutes before departure at all airports.

Baggage

The size and weight of all carry-on baggage is determined by class of service and is indicated on the ticket or on the "Manage your reservations" page on the El Al website. All allowed carry-on baggage can be viewed here https://www.elal.com/eng/baggage/hand-baggage . Checked-in baggage may not exceed 23 kg (in Economy Class) and 32 kg (in Business Class). It is also possible to add extra pieces of baggage up to three hours before departure on the El Al "Manage booking" page.

Unaccompanied minors

Children aged 5 to 15 years old may fly unaccompanied if a child care service is purchased for them. Special El Al flight attendants will take care of them, from arriving at the check-in counters at the airport to meeting relatives in the destination country. This service is also available for children aged 16 to 18 but is not compulsory.

Infants

An infant is classified as one who is not yet two years old. Children between the ages of two and twelve are not classified as infants. Infants seven days of age and younger require special prior authorization from an El Al doctor to fly. Infants under two years of age (24 months) must travel with a companion. A bassinet seat may be reserved. These seats are available for infants up to nine months of age.

There are several ways to transport animals: as personal baggage in the El Al cabin (animal weighing up to 9 kg); as checked baggage (animal weighing up to 100 kg); as registered cargo (animal weighing more than 100 kg). The cost of pet carriage depends on the total weight of the pet, the carrier and the pet food.
