Check in rules
Registration can be done online (via the website or mobile app) or at the airport. Check-in desks open three hours before departure and close 60 minutes before departure. Volaris’s Online Check-in allows you to check in between 72 hours and 60 minutes before your domestic flight departs and between 24 hours and 60 minutes before your international flight departs.

On all Volaris flights, each passenger is allowed one carry-on bag and one personal item. Both items may not weigh more than 6.8 kg, and the outer dimensions (H+D+W) may not exceed 104.6 cm. In addition, passengers are allowed one bag weighing up to 24.9 kg with a maximum size of 158 cm.

Volaris’ Unaccompanied Minor Service provides assistance to help check-in and board the minor onto the aircraft. This service is required for passengers between the ages of 5 and 11. Passengers between the ages of 12 and 18 have the option to travel as Unaccompanied Minors or Adults. Minors between the ages of 2 and 4 may travel using this service as long as they are also traveling with another minor between the ages of 12 and 17 who will assume responsibility for the child. In this case, both minors will travel using this service.
Unaccompanied minors in VolarisInfants
An infant under two years old and over seven days old is permitted to travel on an adult's lap for a reduced fare, as long as the infant is travelling with a ticket-paying adult. Only children under two years of age can travel at a reduced price. If your child turns two on the trip, you are required to purchase a full priced fare for the return ticket. One adult may travel with two babies as long as one of them travels in a car seat (approved for use on aircraft), paying full fare, and the other sits on the adult's lap.

There is a limit of 7 pets as checked baggage and two pets in the cabin on each Volaris flight. Small dogs and cats can accompany their owners in the cabin of Volaris flights if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 10 kg. Each passenger is permitted to bring one carrier on board, and only one pet is permitted in each carrier. For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed 43 cm x 30 cm x 17 cm. Pets who exceed the weight limit to travel in the cabin with Volaris may be accepted for transport as checked baggage instead. The maximum combined weight of the pet and carrier should not exceed 99 lbs (44 kg) to travel in this manner. Carriers should have combined dimensions of less than 157 cm for pets traveling as checked baggage.
