Check-in can be done online (via the website or mobile app) or at the airport. Online check-in begins 24 hours before departure and ends 60 minutes before departure. Check-in desks open three hours before departure and close 60 minutes before departure.

Sun Country Airlines (SY) allows one carry-on bag and one personal item (purse, briefcase, laptop bag) per passenger fee free. All carry-on bags must: not exceed 24 inches long x 16 inches wide x 11 inches tall (including wheels, handles, etc.), and not exceed 35 pounds in weight.

The airline does not provide an escort service for minors

Infants are defined as children under two years of age. Infants younger than eight days are not permitted to travel on any Sun Country Airlines flight. Children under two years of age (24 months) may be held on an adult's lap without charge. Lap children may travel free of charge on Sun Country Airlines flights, but the number of infants in a party cannot exceed the number of adults. Because there is a limit of one lap child per ticketed adult, when traveling with more than one child under the age of 2 years, for the second baby, a ticket must be purchased to reserve a seat for the use of an approved child safety seat.

A maximum of 4 pets as carry-on baggage will be accepted on each flight. Sun Country Airlines welcomes pet cats and dogs in the cabin on select flights within the United States if the combined weight of pet and carrier is less than 16 lbs (7 kg). Pets are not allowed to travel on international flights or flights to/from Anchorage. Each passenger is permitted to bring one pet and carrier on a flight. For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed the dimensions of 16" x 11" x 8" (40 cm x 28 cm x 20 cm). Sun Country Airlines does not accept pets in the cargo hold.
