KLM Check-in can be done online (via the website or mobile app) or at the airport (check-in desks or KLM self-service kiosks). The regular opening hours of the check-in desks at most airports are: european flights: until 40 minutes before departure, intercontinental flights: until 60 minutes before departure.

Baggage

Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 21.5in x 10in x 13.5in/55cm x 25cm x 35cm (length x width x height). Maximum Weight of Carry-on Luggage: 26 lb/12 kg. Baggage allowance varies based on the class you are traveling to, your destination, and your KLM frequent flyer status. Economy class: 1 piece not exceeding 50.5 lbs/23 kg and 62in/158 cm (length + width + height). Business class: 2 pieces not exceeding 70.5 lbs/32 kg and 62in/158 cm (length + width + height) each. Flying Blue Silver, Gold, and Platinum members; SkyTeam Elite and Elite Plus members: one extra piece based on their travel class with corresponding weight and size restrictions.

Unaccompanied minors

Children over the age of five can travel alone. A minors' accompanying KLM service is compulsory for children 5-14 years old. For children over 15 years of age, the Minor Unaccompanied Minor service is not mandatory and can be ordered at parents' request. To use the Unaccompanied Minor service, pay the adult ticket price plus a service fee.

Infants

On both your departure and return flight, children younger than two years old will travel sitting on your lap. Every adult may travel with two babies, but only one baby may sit on your lap. For the other, you need to book an extra KLM seat. A child under two is usually charged a reduced fare plus taxes, even if the infant will be on another passenger's lap during the flight.

Pets

Allowed to bring one cat or dog in the cabin when flying economy class or KLM business class in Europe. Pet must be in a closed travel bag no larger than 46 x 28 x 24 cm. Pet and travel bag may weigh max. 8 kg. A pet weighing up to 75 kg and the container may travel in the KLM luggage compartment. The container may be no larger than 122 x 81 x 89 cm on KLM flights or 102 x 69 x 76 cm on KLM Cityhopper flights.
