TAP Air Portugal Check-in can be done online (via the website or mobile app) or at the airport. Check-in desks open four hours before TAP departure and close 45 minutes before departure. Online check-in begins 24 hours before departure and ends 90 minutes before departure.

TAP Carry-On Allowance: number of pieces is two; maximum dimensions of carry-on luggage is 45 linear in/115 cm (length + width + height); maximum weight of carry-on luggage is 35.2 lb/10kg total. Checked baggage allowance is 2 pieces up to 32 kg; maximum dimensions is 158 cm (length + width + height).

Passengers aged from 5 to 11 years traveling alone are always considered to be Unaccompanied Minors. When aged from 12 to 17 years inclusive, they may exceptionally be registered as Unaccompanied Minors at the request of their parents or legal guardians. A child traveling in a different TAP cabin class to that in which the adult travels is also considered to be an Unaccompanied Minor.

Infants are defined as children under two years of age. Infants may fly without a seat on the plane, on the lap of an accompanying adult. If you wish you can buy a seat for an infant at the infant fare. When booking a TAP Air Portugal flight, each adult may take only one child between the ages of two and 11 and one infant under the age of two or only one infant under the age of two.

TAP Air Portugal allows small cats and dogs to travel in the cabin on select flights. However, pets and their carriers must not exceed 17 lbs (8 kg). Tap Air Portugal allows pets in the hold, as long as there is enough space and the aircraft and cabin are suitable. Pets and carriers with a combined weight under 70 lbs (32 kg) on flights to/from or stopping over in the USA, Hungary, France, and the Netherlands can travel in the hold. Pets that do not exceed 99 lbs (45 kg) on all other flights offered by TAP Air can travel in the hold. The maximum dimensions that will fit under the seat are 40 cm x 33 cm x 17 cm.
