Check in rules
Etihad Airways has online check-in on more than half of its routes. Online check-in allows you to check in 1-48 hours before your flight departure. Etihad check-in desks open at least three hours before the scheduled departure time (four hours for flights out of Abu Dhabi). Check-in closes 60 minutes before departure time, except for Diamond First Class and Pearl Business Class passengers in Abu Dhabi where check-in closes 45 minutes before departure.

An economy class passenger can carry one carry-on bag weighing up to 7 kg. A bag may be up to 56cm x 36cm x 23cm. A business class passenger may carry two bags weighing up to 12kg and measuring no more than 56cm x 36cm x 23cm. Checked-in baggage allowance: economy class - 2 bags (23 kg each), business/first class - 2 bags (32 kg each). The size of all checked bags must not exceed 90 x 72 x 45 cm.

The Unaccompanied Minors service is available for children ages 5 to 17. Children between the ages of 5 and 11 can use the Unaccompanied Minors service for free. They must be booked at the regular adult rate. Children ages 12 to 17 can travel on their adult tickets, but you may prefer to use our Unaccompanied Minors service for a fee.

Infants are defined as children seven days to 23 months of age. Infants are allowed to sit on the lap of a parent/guardian. A bassinet is available on board. Children must weigh less than 11 kg and be under 75 cm tall. Children over two years of age must have a seat on the plane. Baby food can be ordered at least 24 hours before departure.

To travel with a cat, dog, or trained service dog on board, submit a reservation form at least seven days before departure. The size of the container for pets must not exceed 40x40x22 cm (if placed under the seat) or 50x43x50 cm (if you bought a ticket for the next seat). In addition, a cat or dog must be at least 16 weeks old and weigh no more than 8 kg, including its carrier container.
