Check in rules

SAS Check-in can be done online (via the website or mobile app) or at the airport. Check-in desks open an hour and a half before departure (for domestic flights) and two hours before departure (for international flights) and close 45 minutes before departure. Online check-in begins 22 hours before departure and closes 60 minutes before departure.

Baggage

Each SAS passenger is allowed one bag and one personal item, such as a bag or briefcase. The maximum dimensions of SAS hand baggage are 55 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm (length x width x height), the maximum weight of hand baggage is 8 kg. SAS Checked-in baggage allowance: up to 23 kg (one piece for economy class, two pieces for business class), maximum size - 158 cm (sum of all dimensions).

Unaccompanied minors

Children over the age of five can travel alone. A minors' escort SAS service is compulsory for children 5-11 years old. For children over 12 years old, the minors' escort service is not mandatory and can be booked at the parents' request.

Infants

Infants are defined as children under two years of age. Infants may fly without a seat on the SAS plane, on the lap of an accompanying adult. The fare is 10% of an adult ticket. It is also possible to buy a seat on the plane for an infant at the child's fare. Children over two years of age must have their own seats on the plane. If one adult travels with two infants, one seat must be purchased for one infant, and the other may be held on the lap.

Pets

Each SAS passenger may take on board one carrier, holding no more than two small pets. This will count as your carry-on baggage. The total weight of the pet(s) and the carrier may not exceed 8 kg. Pets that exceed the weight allowed for carriage in the cabin may be carried in the cargo compartment. The maximum weight of transported animals is 60 kg. Therefore, up to 2 animals weighing 14 kg can be carried in one carrier.
