Unaccompanied minors

Children between 5 and 17 years can travel as unaccompanied minors after booking the service. Children between 5 – 14 years old traveling without an adult guardian or a parent on the same flight must book the Unaccompanied Minor service—it is mandatory for them. Children 15 years or older can travel alone on flights operated by United Airlines and United Express or as Unaccompanied Minors (optional).

Infants

Infants are considered to be children under two years of age. Infants may fly without a seat on the plane, on the lap of an accompanying adult. If you prefer, you can buy a seat for an infant at the infant fare. Infants over the age of two must have their own seat on the plane. If one adult is traveling with two infants, one seat must be purchased for one infant and the other may be held on the lap.

Pets

United Airlines welcomes passengers with small pets (dogs, cats, and rabbits) in the cabin. Carriers must be hard or soft-sided for pets traveling with you in the cabin.
