If this plane is designed for short to medium haul flights, why is UAL deploying it on transcontinental routes from IAD to LAX

The plane bounces around a lot especially over the Rockies. Wide bodies are more stable and more comfortable for 6 hour fights

Acceptable under-seat storage and leg room.

Made more narrow by the window frame protruding into your shoulder area. Overhead bin space limited by crew supplies.

Slightly extra legroom and no seat pitch in front.

No under seat storage and overhead storage is reduced by 50% for seats 8ABC due to storage reserved for crew equipment.

Basic United seat

The middle seat in row 25 has a large obstruction in the under-seat storage, which makes it impossible to store even small backpacks underneath.
