Check in rules

Air India Express Online check-in is permitted up to 48 hours and no later than 2 hours before departure for international flights. For domestic flights web check-in is allowed no later than 1 hour before departure. However passengers can arrive at the airport 4 hours before departure.

Baggage

Air India Express Passengers are allowed to take on board hand luggage with a maximum size of 55 cm x 35 m x 25 cm, and weighing up to 7 kg. The maximum weight of checked baggage is 23 kg, size up to 158 cm (sum of all dimensions).

Unaccompanied minors

Children under the age of 12 traveling alone are classified as "unaccompanied minors," for whom a special service is provided. On domestic routes, unaccompanied minors are children over age 5 and under age 12. "Unaccompanied minors" are allowed only on flights operated by Air India. Unaccompanied minors are not allowed on Air India flights if Interline Travel is involved at the point of transit.

Infants

Children under two years of age are considered infants. Infants younger than 14 days old are not allowed on the Air India Express flight. Infants do not need a separate seat. They may travel on the lap of an accompanying adult. One adult may travel with two infants. In this case, you need to buy one seat for one infant, and the other can be on the adult's lap.

Pets

Small pets will be accepted on Air India Express domestic flights. Pets and carriers should not exceed 5 kg. For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers should not exceed 18" x 18" x 12" (46 cm x 46 cm x 30 cm) and should be soft ventilated bags or kennels. Pets who are too large to travel in the cabin may be transported in the cargo hold instead.
