The ATR 72-600 is operated by Japan Air commuter (JAC) for its parent company Japan Airlines. It is configured in a single class 70 seat layout. Most routes operate out of JAC's Kagoshima hub to regional destinations within Japan. The ATR 72-600 is the latest version in the series. It has updated engines, avionics and an improved passenger cabin. The type has a typical cruising speed of 510 km/h (320m mph) and a range of 1530 km (950 mi). At its maximum take-off weight, the ATR 72-600 requires only 1315m (4300 ft) of runway making it suitable for operations to smaller airfield.
