IndiGo Airbus A321 aircraftIndiGo

Airline logo
India's Haryana state is home to IndiGo's headquarters. In terms of both fleet size and passenger volume, it is India's largest airline. It was Asia's sixth-largest airline as of October 2021. IndiGo is the second largest operator of the Airbus A321neo. The airline's Airbus A321 is well suited for its local and international flights that require a greater passenger capacity, with a typical seating capacity of roughly 230 passengers. Modern features including a digital cockpit, advanced avionics, and winglets that increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions are also included in the Airbus A321's equipment. As IndiGo expands its operations and updates its fleet, the Airbus A321 might become even more important to the company's strategy, particularly for its longer-haul routes that need for a higher passenger capacity and wider range capabilities.

These A321neos are the latest addition to IndiGo's fleet. They feature Recaro's best-selling lightweight BL3710 seats. These offer passengers a little more room which is very much appreciated at the tight pitch of 28-29" (71-74cm). These seats offer a modest recline but do not feature any power outlets. Passengers looking for some extra space: Row 1 offers enhanced knee space but might be bothersome with the galley and lavatory near-by. Rows 18 and 19 have increased legroom but row 18 does not recline. Both are emergency exit rows. Row 28 and seats 29A and F are also located at an exit and feature substantially increased legroom. Keep in mind that seats near exits do suffer from a cool draft. Seats at row 39 are best avoided as they are close to the aft galley and lavatories and they are also narrower. Seats 39A and F also lack a window view.

IndiGo operates 14 examples of this earlier configuration of the A321neo. The seating on board is slightly more spacious than the rest of IndiGo's fleet. Seats are spaced at around 30" (76cm) compared to IndiGo's common 28-29" (71-74cm) layouts. Passengers looking for even more space might want to reserve seats in rows 1, 17, 18 and 27. Row 1 has more knee space but is close to the galley and lavatory. Also over-head storage can be a struggle. Rows 17 and 18 are overwing exit rows. Row 17 does not recline though. Row 27 is by far the most spacious with near endless legroom. Please note however that the windows at this row are misaligned. The exit doors also generate a bit of a cool draft. Other rows worth singling out are: Rows 16 and 26 where not all seats recline as well as the final row 37 where the right hand side does not recline. The last row is also narrower and does not feature a window view. The galley and lavatories at the back also generate a lot of traffic.
