Ethiopian Airlines operates only one model of Bombardier, the Q400. As of 2022, the company has 30 Q400s. The aircrafts has been chosen by the airline due to their small capacity. The Bombardier Q400 has a longer fuselage and increased passenger capacity to 78 passengers. The plane also has twice as powerful engines, which provide a cruising speed and up to 650 km/h. With these changes, the 400 series also received the Q (Quiet) designation because of its noise and vibration reduction system in the passenger cabin.
